I’m clinical director and supervising psychologist at Psych Lab Psychology Center in Long Beach, CA.
I do not currently have availability to accept new patients.
However, I am available for treatment evaluations and will help you get started in therapy with a member of my excellent team at Psych Lab. Here’s more info on how we work.
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology at Adler University in Chicago. While there I also received a master’s degree in counseling psychology, and a certificate in clinical hypnosis.
I taught and co-chaired hypnosis workshops through SCEH, ASCH, and the Chicago Society of Clinical Hypnosis from 2009 through 2013, and am a past president of APA Division 30.
My main area of clinical focus over the past decade has been the treatment of complex trauma and attachment disturbances, and on psychodynamic personality assessment.
I have extensive background in mind-body medicine, transpersonal and depth psychology, and Buddhist psychology.
I completed my doctoral dissertation on the topic of hypnosis training, and it contains a quite interesting literature review regarding the history of hypnosis and the transmission of hypnotic knowledge and techniques.
I wrote a chapter on Formulating Hypnotic Suggestions for Gary Elkins’ 2016 textbook Handbook of Medical and Psychological Hypnosis which provides an exploration of the hypnotic dynamics of interpersonal suggestion both inside and outside the context of explicit hypnosis.
As president of APA Division 30, I wrote a series of President’s Letters for the division newsletter discussing the history and current state of psychology and the APA.
